I am graduating in May from the University at Albany and moving back to New Jersey, where I am from originally. I have a real interest in international financial management and was wondering if anyone could lead me the right direction by naming some potential employers.
I would rather not work for a big bank. I am looking for something that deals with the management side of international finance (ie. FX Risk management, etc.)
Please any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Socialize, make contacts, surf the internet, and ask about job posting for paid internships or a junior consultant position for Finance.
1. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu
2. Ernst & Young
3. KPMG
4. PriceWaterhouseCoopers
5. Accenture
McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co, Booz·Allen & Hamilton, The Boston Consulting Group…
1. PIMCO. (Fixed Income. The world largest.) *tears*
2. Wilshire Associates. (Equity)
3. Western Assets. (Fixed Income) They just cut 10% of their work force so probably not a good place to look.
4. Susquehanna
Talk with your professors (the ones with connection at least). Some of my professors will let students know about job openings and are quite happy to use their connections to place students in jobs or refer them to the right people if you approach them.
I don’t have a tip as where to work, as you may prefer attributes that maybe associated with smaller companies or larger companies. But I can offer advice that is offtopic…I would look into getting your CFA ASAP.
